Mini hovercrafts

Post by Freebird on Thu Jun 25, 2009 8:20 am

I was watching a show on Discovery yesterday about these small one man hovercrafts. They looked like great fun but I have never seen one here ... or anywhere to be honest except on TV.
I want one!

And where are you going to test it? Once a year when the street is flooded?

Haha, that would be good fun .... shooting down the streets during the floods. Imagine the faces of the locals?

There's got to be plenty of places round here. Have you seen Nakhon on googleearth? It's covered in water near the seashore.

Have you opened your eyes, do you know how far away that is??? Sure it is only 10 min in a car.. Have you seen the water??? I have been out there... Good luck...

Can I come and laugh when you get yourself one???

Now, it could be practical during the rainy season... Tends to flood where you live...

Ahemmm, a hover craft is amphibious Snowy, no need for water it would work just as well on the road (albeit a bit dangerous here).

I have seen a propellor driven boat knocking about here (by prop I mean as in plane not boat).

A hovercraft is just an engine and a prop with some venting. The difficult part is the skirt (apparently).
There was a show in UK called Scrapheap Challenge, they built and raced some using junk. Big piece of pollystyrene is what you need.

On the same not.... why do they not have more amphibious cars here? Top Gear made their own. Just bold some barrels to the side of ya car and a jet ski impeller to hte back and away you go.
