Thanks Admin! It was great to meet you and finally put a face to the name. Songkhran has been amazing and great fun. Sorry we didn't make it out to the Britannia Tavern last night. As you probably know, transportation during Songkhran is not very easy for those who don't own a bike (probably for those who do own bikes as well). Once things do subtle down and I get a bike, I'll definitely come around for a few pints and maybe quiz night.

i heard that the two of you met up, thats nice...

Riding around town on a bike is awsome.... I did take it out in the afternoon on songkran, it was fun avoiding the splashing...

Still, best way to get around is on a bike...

Good luck getting one (may i suggest a honda pcx) very comfortable and large enough for a family of five... But be warned that it is not cheap...

I just had two quick unrelated questions for you guys:
1) Baring in mind that I've only been here for a week and a half, where is the best place in town to get standard fare such as Cow Phad Gai, Phad Thai, Phad Say You, etc??
2) Is the golf coarse and shooting range on Fort Vajiravudh open to the public??

Thanks for any help.

1) Rock 99, opposite the Thai Hotel, behind the 7/11

2) Yes, the golf course is, not sure about the shooting range.

I might have a golf club set for sale, interested?

The food??? Just walk outside and find the places that you like...

I wasn't sure which section to put this in, so I figured I'd just keep
my stream of questions going here. I know its a LONG shot, but does
anyone know where I can find a pinball machine either in NST or close
by?? I played a lot back home and it would be awesome to find one here.
Also, do the theatres in NST only play Thai dubbed films? Do they ever play just subtitled ones?

Pinball? Don't think I've ever seen a pinball table here.

Haven't been to the movies here - just rent DVDs.

In BKK - Londoner, Seacon Square and pretty much the 'games' area of any big shopping mall should have them. No idea where there is one in Hatyai.

Failing that, if you're using XP, there is a virtual pinball under Games .... not the same I know but probably the nearest you'll ever get to the real thing here.

Have you seen the musical written by The Who, called Tommy? It's about a deaf dumb and blind kid who's a pinball wizard. Here's more, if you're interested.

Great song too!
