E-insure Thai - http://www.e-insurethailand.com ...... covered for about the same. A very friendly farang guy called Tony Dabbs will help you choose the correct policy for your needs.

Believe me, a major incident puts a big hit on your accounts. Last time I was in hossy, the bill was over B100,000/day so insurance is a must.

It could happen to you.

glad to hear you got insurance.
it is important.
if you have not got any.. free advice.. get some.. you never know when you may need it , but when you do.. you will be thankful..
I to went into hospital ( bkk) .. and the bill came to 80,000.. but down here in Nakhon, it is a bit cheaper..but you need to have cover.. think if you came off your motorcycle and had to go to hospital.. and you had to take time off work... hospital bill to pay and no pay ..

Admin still got paid from school, fellow teachers did help him out there...
Sure insurance is good, but how much do you have to pay a year if you are not like Admin (old and cripple)?

but snowy... you never know what will or can happen in the future... so it is best to make sure you have that cover...
a car could knock you down.... what would you do?
you break your leg... what would you do??
you get dengue fever .. what would you do??
if you have insurance , you have peace of mind.. that the bill will be paid..

for 18000 a year.. it works out pretty cheap..
you can spend that on one visit to a hospital..
in phuket if you do not want to feel the pain.. it costs 6000 for the injection.

Hey, I offered it!!!!
Sure it works out cheap... But I have full faith in my public health insurance that works provides me with... If not, well, I guess I would be able to pay for a few days in hospital... PS... I know that you can never predict what will happen,  and every day I think of what would happen if I got sick, who would pay? Me, School, who would step up to the plate and pay? I am too young and reckless to bother with it (stupid, but that is being young)... PS... If I ever get a big bike again, I will surly have an insurance!

what happens when you are not in town?? you are far away like in khorat. who would pay the bill then.. your public health insurance will not pay for it.. you have to be at the hospital you named..
insurance covers you around thailand..

I don't travel too much... Besides, if I travel, there will be someone with me who can contact the correct people to take care of me!
Hmmm. Idea, maybe I should go away alone for a few days this summer!!! that might do me some good!I used to go to had yai alone before, once a month.. had some good fun there as well... Phuket, here I come, all alone... Bangkok, here I come, all alone... Khorat, here I will not go.!!!

Sure, and the second I end up in hospital with an illness like that, i am leaving Thailand to go back to free health care and social security... Ps... I am actually healthier than I look...  But yes, I know I am fat!

yes snowy ,but you will end up in hospital and you will get a bill... which would be less if you had insurance ..
and then you will want the airfare home..
you never know when you will need treatment ... look at you today ,, you nearly bleed to death ( so you said ) when you cut yourself shaving..
what would you do if it was a bit more serious? knife wound? car accident, falling off your balcony when posing naked? slip down the stairs when drunk... you are getting older Snowy and things happen .. you are not superman.

Ha, I will never die!!!Sure these things can happen, that is why you have to pay when you go to the hospital, even with insurance... I will take my chances for now, you do your thing, I will do mine... But it is a good suggestion...

I fail to see where I said that... In another thread I posted that I was bleeding like mad from a small cut, that is not the same as bleeding to death... Maybe you should learn to read better? Now I can ofcourse be wrong, and I should learn to read better, so please find where I said that and quote it for me... That way I can still buy you a beer later!

Re: Insurance cover

Post by Gold member on Fri Feb 05, 2010 8:10 am

the idea for this posting was for people to know about the benefits of having insursance and to give some information for those who want it .. not for young pups who think they are indistructable ( no names mentioned).
i am sure some people would love to know where to get insurance and how much it is .. useful information... you are missing the point .. peopel do get sick and when they do.. they will be thankful for having the insurance cover.. even you.

So maybe you should post your companys number and contact details along with what you have to pay! That way, I could lock the topic so people could get the information and then noone could make silly comments on those pages!!!(I know you were talking about me, and no, I know that I can easily get hurt or injured, so stop pretending that you are so f... ing better than me... I know the risk of not having an insurance, my choice, not yours... So don't try to lecture me on that). Now, post some details or I will lock this thread due to the fact it is getting nowhere!
