Driving yourself?
The roads in not only Nakhon but Thailand itself are in general pretty good. They 'drive' on the left as in the UK and Australia (Malaysia & Singapore too) but because of very poor policing there is a 'if there's space, I can use it' mentality meaning that you will have motorcycles, cars etc etc often driving on the 'wrong' side of the road. There is also a very selfish attitude meaning that cars will pull out, obstruct you for no reason other than that driver wanted to do that. In the whole to survive, you will need to start riding/driving offensively. Be careful out there.

Re: Driving yourself?
Nothing wrong with using the space that is avaiable!

Just think of the worst, most idiotic maneuver the other guy could make. Then watch him do it!

Just think how I have never crashed as well... I must be doing something right...
I can name a few people here on this forum who has had a run in with the other trafficants...
BTW, how long time do you use to Thung Song? 2 hours? Then a lunch break?? that trip should not take more than 40 minutes, and that is going slow!

There are too many of them out there...I've turned to road rage for comfort. At the same T-junction every single f*****g morning they fly out without looking into the two way traffic, whether they are turning left or right, and then smile as if ......well you know the rest.

I did that morning... I was yelling all kinds of things in my car to the stupid SongTaew driver... He just cut out infront of me (well he tried) with no indicators... Full of students...
My horn went of like an air raid alarm during WW2 and my voice was louder that Mr. Adolf during a speech about the people he loved... Same love I have for SongTaew drivers...
