Air safety in the south?

Post by Admin on Tue Jan 12, 2010 12:10 pm

I was just thinking the other day, yes it hurt too but the number of aircraft accidents is way out of proportion to the number of flights/airports there are in the region.

Accidents in the south that I can think of:

1. Surat Thani - pilot tried twice and on 3rd try messed things up killing a load of people.
2. A navy jet I think just north of ThaSala. The pilot abandoned plane and baled out.
3. A small plane on Samui .... hit the hill or something.
4. Bangkok Airways .... skidded on landing hitting old control tower on Samui.
5. One - to - Go/Crash in Phuket.
6. Trang when a plane slid off the runway

These are only in the last few years, maybe 12 or so.

Although I was driving there was no way I was not going to take a picture of this plane... Zoom inn and you can see that there are pictures of people splattered from the front of the plane... There is a travel agent next to this picture...
