Killed by speedboat 12 January One diver is dead and another missing after the pair were run down by a speedboat off the coast of southern Thailand. According to Thai media, a 40-year-old Russian man was cut in half when the twin-engine boat ran over him about 300m off the shore near Koh Larn, Pattaya. On the evening of 12 January, local time, his diving companion remained missing, subject to searches. The divers were reported to have been diving in a designated scuba zone but surfaced just as the boat went through. The boat’s 47-year-old helmsman is reported to have been arrested and charged with reckless driving.
