Moderators?

Post by Snowflake on Sun Feb 07, 2010 10:47 pm

As you all know there are 3 moderators on this forum, Admin, Sean and myself... The question I would like to ask is simple, when do you think we should delete posts or edit posts? F. ex. the last thread I started up with dogs was clearly a situation waiting to happen, but not very offensive to begin with, Some posts were a bit harsh but all in all, we had a decent argument where certain views were aired over the coward net... Should we delete the whole thread because some posts were bad? Should we delete some posts, or should we start to edit beyond all norms? What do you think?
Admin, I for one thinks that you do go over board some times with the delete button, I don't think "will the big dog bite this time" was that bad. Maybe some editing sure, but all in all... No names were mentioned, some strong views were given and best of all, people would have a chance to coment on it... Now you took that away... I think it would have been better to not delete the whole thread, and keep the first post (I spent a few minutes on it) and then rather delete the posts that you found so offensive... What do you think?

Actually, I think Admin did a good job .... when personal 'insults' are thrown at people this small community knows then it is time for censorship.

This forum should be a place for banter, not insults/accusations.

There are plenty of other places to do that!

the thread was getting out of hand.. name calling and insulting.. and everyone knew who it was pointed at.. and the people concerned.
if the certain people feel that bad to each other .. say it their faces .. not the cowards way out.. anyone can be brave behind a screen..

So why not edit/delete the posts that got out of hand and keep the ones that were not??? My guess is that he did not even read all the posts... You can not claim that the first post was insulting of flaming! Some of the other ones I do agree with were on the sideline to be really bad, but not to delete all the posts...

Not surprising.

The rule "No Flaming" does not explain what behavior is expected or forbidden. You'd have to define "flaming" for it to be meaningful.

Whatever, this forum is obviously just a good time-waster for a very small number of NST'ers... and that's fine.

In the context being talked about:

A flame - an angry, critical, or disparaging remark

to flame - to send an angry, critical, or disparaging remark

Basically, if any posts are made in a negative manner about anyone 'related' to Nakhon, that post/thread will be deleted. If that is too difficult to understand, get back to me and I'll try and put it into a simpler form for you.

Not any negative remarks about anyone in NST??? HAHAHA thats a good one Admin...

Let us see now... Yep, you have a lot of threads to delete...
May I suggest that you edit/lock the threads instead of deleting them? That way, people who are having a debate can be educated and shown the correct way of expressing their views in ways you find tolerant?

Getting posts that you spend a few minutes typing up deleted is not very nice and the next time you might just skip writing anything at all... If you know what I mean...

I know some of the language I used was negative, there was a reasonably good debate going on in the thread we're ostensibly discussing.

Anger is fun too sometimes.

Yes, I hear what you are saying but unfortunately things can get out of hand very quickly, hence the need I think to nip things in the bud early.

It is not nice for well though out, time consuming posts to be deleted and I shall try and edit as best I can next time.

I agree, though I have to admit that I wanted to edit a few things, I was planning on doing that on the Monday, Admin got to it first (deleted)

I am for the free speech, but some of the things you came out with HuaNgu would rival some of the worst I have managed to come out with...

(I did like arguing with you, even if it made you look like a moron with no brains)...

Post by Snowflake on Thu Feb 11, 2010 1:34 pm

Can't handle the truth??? Snowfag... That is new... What about calling me that to my face? Maybe you are too scared to do that???
name calling is never nice, but sometimes you have to call a spade a spade, there is noway around it...
Last Friday was an interesting show of how a few dumb foreigners can almost create a lot of problem for other foreigners. If you have a problem with a person, here is a few good way to go around it... 1. Say it too his face (while that person is sober(if you want a reasonably reply)) and wait to see what will happen... 2. Ignore the person, do not do anything, behave like your mum told you too and do what she said (if you cant say something nice about someone when they are not around, don't say it at all).3. The urge you get from wanting to play police should be kept down, sure if you see something bad is going to happen, it is your civil duty to interfere and try to stop it from happening. (Not to play hero, buy you all know what I say).
4. Stay home, post on the net, be a coward, but think what it will do for that person and what will other people think about you! Is it really worth fighting for? IS IT?
My guess is that Admin will delete this post since it is so far off topic, but hey, let us see... Keep the language civil, don't call anyone animals or morons (except for HuaNgu and Snowflake (we can handle it)...
I am greatly offended by being called SNOWFAG!

Fighting never really proved anything... except when it's in a proper ring. Belts prove something, to me at least.

I'd happily tell that certain someone to their how I honestly felt about him if we were both sober. The trouble is, I've never had that opportunity!

Belts for me are too keep up the pants ( you would think that my waist would have no problem with that, but my pants keep sliding down)...
Fighting proves alot, it proves A: you are dumb enough to steep to that level. B: you are luckier than the person you fight with (if you win). C: you are right, he is wrong...
If you never had the opportunity to speak to a man sober, why is it then that you feel the need to slag him off?? Something does not add up there HuaNgu...If you want, there can always be arranged a SIT DOWN so both parties can have a saying... That might also be the way to deal with several other problems, but then again, the party that wants to offend someone has to speak up in a sensible way, not mouth off over the net or behind the backs... That will not get you anywhere...
Fighting in the ring is not good, sparring is good... I have vowed to never fight in a ring again, and to avoid fighting in the streets as much as possible!!!(anyone fancy finding some boxing gloves and go a round or two)?

Lads .... let's not go off on a tangent here.

People's user names are chosen by the users. If you have difficulty reading someone's user name, ask one of your colleagues and they might be able to help.

When I say "belts", I mean championship belts. They do mean something as long as we're not talking about WWF/E.

Yes, why would I EVER slag off a guy who repeatedly gets waaaayyy too drunk and assaults my friends.... Rocks are for smoking, not throwing, dooooood!

You can put up any belt you want but in a street fight, they mean nothing...
I am willing to put money on the fact I can walk into any pub in England/Ireland and find a few guys able to give the "UFC Champions" a beating of a lifetime... Ring and street are far difference, belts for me means just one thing... you have some skills and a very good promoter. Why would you slag off a guy that gets drunk all the time? Sure, get him when he assaults your friends, not 1 year after!!! Talk about being silly!!!Guess you like to smoke rocks (but that says a lot about you) some people gets drunk... at least they stay on the correct side of the law!!!

Apparently irony is COMPLETELY lost on you, dude.

Anyway, if you remember the whole silly thing started because I posted one small comment on FB. If that's what you call "slagging someone off", I have no idea what to say to you.

I was not trying to police anyone or do anything except express a very base emotion. It was his violent response to that that brought up issue of his pattern of abusive behavior. Let's not get things mixed up.

Ok, let us not get things mixed up... Did he not sit down quietly before you came in? Did you not taunt him (I have very good hearing, so be honest)? Do you honestly think that it was a nice thing to post on FB???
The thing is sir, you did something that someone got weeweed off for... justified or not, YOU did it, not me, not Teabagger, not Gold member, and for once, not Admin either...  YOU DID IT...  (and you knew exactly what would happen... You poked the dog in the eye, not very smart...
Silly for you, not silly for the other person...
Lets look at another example... I am sure that you can remember that a Danish newspaper printed some funny pictures of Mohamed, can you remember that? If yes, what was the reaction of the whole Islamic world? Bottom line, you found it funny, he did not, that means you started it...

not this again....... can you not drop the topic?.. let it go and die a death.. all this is doing is putting wood on the fire .. we all do not want a repeat performance of last week.. SEAN will get no trade...
right we all know that the certin party who put the offencesive words on a worldwide forum was wrong in doing so.. and that person ( who says he has a brain) knew it would provoke a situation...
right ... are we all to speed here? that person should say sorry to the second party on the worldwide forum.. and then the pair of them talk to each other... agree they do not like each other... just be nice when they see each other ( say hello ,, ect ) and sit at opposite ends of SEANS ,, with out any snide remearks... life goes on.. and you will both show you are both grown adults who know how to act outside the square monitor thatb sits infront of them..... now end it...
i am sure Sean and other that go to Seans do NOT WANT A REPEAT PERFORMANCE.. of the so called educated people.. ( prove it , tuen the other cheek )

So it was the Danish newspaper's fault that some Muslims got angry?? That's absurd.

What ever happened to the idea that we are all responsible for our actions? Isn't that fundamental in modern society?

Any way, I have no intention of talking to this person again... That sentiment has been the same for the past 3 years now and won't change anytime soon. After being personally threatened by him, I wrote him off. The FB thing was not intended to be considered my trying to send a message or communicate with him in any way.

Now let's drop it, yeah?

Ok, we could drop it, but why not gossip about it all the time...
I am happy to hear that you have no intention of talking to him again...
It was not the Danish Newspapers fault that the whole Muslim world got angry, but let us see... If they did not post that cartoon (it was funny), they would not go crazy over there and other countries...
We have to think forward and think what will happen if we do something...  They claim that the freedom of the press is more important (which I agree it is) than hurting someones feeling by making fun of their prophet. If they did not print the pictures (which they could easily have done) there would be peace and tranquility all the way...
