Well, don't know how new it is but I only saw it for the first time today. It's called 'Nakhon 1%' for some reason and it is located next to the Susco garage on the way to Tescos coming from Ocean. Only had a small stock but what they did have was quite interesting ... an old BMW and a roadster/chopper thingy that actually looked really nice and I hate choppers. Forgot to take a picture, but it was cool looking.

My Nokia N79 has a built in map with GPS device (through GPRS)... I have tested it many times from NST to Thung Song and it has never been more than 10 M away... In December I had to go to Surat Thani and I used it then too (not getting there but finding what I was looking for)... I can search for sights, public offices, schools, streets, special places of interest, temples and so on... I can also do a free text search and several alternatives will come up...I have never really thought much ...

For sometime now I have studied the Thai why of driving and Ive never seen so many stupid idiotic knobs on the road here! Just a little rant!

Be warned, for starters, there is oil, fuel and poopoo on all the roads this comes from all after market pipes, that the Thais think are great! Just the other day I saw a road sweeper, wow I thought, but looking down as I was following, all I saw was full of rainbow colours, oil? Nah, thinking that this must be detergent of some sort I thought I would ...

The other day I was on my motorbike going down this dark stretch of road when out of nowhere this motorbike went flying past me. Bear in mind it was pitch black, no street lights or shops or anything. I could only see a little way in front of me but this guy had no lights whatsoever. How could he see?
I am going with my mate on a road trip this vacation. We are going up north, do you have any suggestions to where we could go? The main goal is just past Udon Thani- I used to live in a small village there called Ban Thai Hai... (2 hours on a bus north of Udon)... So what should we see on the way? Where should we stop? Ps. It is not my GF that is going and we are both boys with interest in the other gender)

Hi,

I'm thinking of moving closer to Amphoe Muang from Tha Sala but need to think about how easy it is to get around. I hear it's getting busier all the time, and I'm used to living somewhere that's not got a lot of traffic.

It's quite possible that my nursery-run will take me from one end of Pattanakaan-Kukwang road up near the bend at Tha Pae, down through Kukwang, and possibly as far as Tesco.

How hideous is that likely to be at 7:30-8:00am and 4:30-5:30pm? Snarled up and annoying, ...

I arrived here to live permanently after being here a few times beforehand. Anyway, coming here permanently, I flew into Don Muang to be met by my wife and some in-laws. After a couple of days relaxing we went out car shopping and after looking around settled on a 2nd hand Toyota 2.8l 4x4 pickup. Great car it was, built in Australia but they were fairly common here too. In fact there are a couple knocking around Nakhon at the moment. That was my first car and have had a few since. Didn't really ...

The roads in not only Nakhon but Thailand itself are in general pretty good. They 'drive' on the left as in the UK and Australia (Malaysia & Singapore too) but because of very poor policing there is a 'if there's space, I can use it' mentality meaning that you will have motorcycles, cars etc etc often driving on the 'wrong' side of the road. There is also a very selfish attitude meaning that cars will pull out, obstruct you for no reason other than that driver wanted to do that. In the whole ...
